About BEST
BEST, Board of European Students of Technology is a constantly growing non-profit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe.
85 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 30 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network.
BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposia. “Learning makes the master”, but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market.
Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe. Thus, we manage to bring all the partners in the “student – company – university” triangle closer.

Position of BEST
BEST is a voluntary, politically unaffiliated, non-profit, non-representative international association of European students of technology.
- We do everything out of free will.
- We do not support particular political philosophies, parties or movements.
- We attempt to make no profit from our actions.
- We represent directly our volunteers and indirectly the STEM students at large, and their voices.
- We are based in Europe.
- We are there for European students of technology.

Local BEST Groups (LBGs)
The core of BEST consists of the 85 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) scattered across Europe. They are the factories of our events and homes of our members. There can only be one LBG in each university.
The main activities of a Local BEST Group are organising and promoting international public and internal events and local activities. The latter are generally directed to students of the local university. For instance, some LBGs organise job fairs or company presentations in their universities. Since almost all BEST activities are completely free of charge, Local BEST Groups also need to do fundraising to finance these projects.
All these imply a lot of work for BEST members (or BESTies as we are called). Nevertheless, we acquire a lot of knowledge that will help us not only as future engineers, but also as European citizens. What is more, we have the opportunity to learn about other cultures, make friends all over Europe and have a lot fun.
